Overview
The Media Upload question type allows users to attach images, videos, and files (PDF, Word, Excel, and more) directly in forms. This enables richer documentation and evidence collection.
Uploading Media
- Images: Upload one or multiple
- Videos: Upload one or multiple, trim before upload, subject to duration and size limits
- Files: PDF, Word, Excel, and other supported formats
Uploading Features:
- Upload progress bar and cancel option
- Error messages for network failures or unsupported formats
- Videos are compressed before uploading
Viewing & Managing Files
- All uploaded media appear under the Files tab
- Thumbnails:
- Images: standard thumbnail
- Videos: first-frame thumbnail with a video icon
- Other files: generic file icon + file name
- In PDFs or exports:
- Videos show a clickable thumbnail for playback
- Files show a clickable icon to download
Validation & Compatibility
- Works seamlessly on mobile and web
- Existing forms using the “Image” question type continue to work
- Tenants without the feature flag cannot see or use Media Upload questions
