Role Tags allow you to consistently classify users and employees with standardized roles (for example, Safety Manager or Quality Auditor). Role Tags support filtering, reporting, and context-driven automation across the platform.
Where Role Tags Appear
- User Single Page → Details: View and assign role tags
- User Profile Summary: Color-coded tags (up to 3 shown, with “…” for more)
- Users List: New Role Tags column with filtering and Saved Views
Assigning Role Tags
- Tags are selected from a searchable dropdown
- A user can have multiple role tags
- Only predefined, active tags can be selected
- Duplicate tags cannot be assigned to the same user
Managing Role Tags (Admin)
Admins can:
- View all role tags (active and inactive)
- Create new tags (unique, case-insensitive)
- Activate or deactivate tags
- Manage tag colors
Deactivated tags cannot be selected for new users.
Permissions
- Admin: Create, activate, and deactivate tags
- OU Owners: Assign or remove tags within their OU and sub-OUs
- All other users: View role tags only
Filtering, Reporting & Imports
- Filter users by one or more role tags (OR logic)
- Filters persist until cleared
- Role Tags are available in dashboards as reporting dimensions
- Bulk Import supports comma-separated role tags
- Imported values overwrite existing tags
- Empty imported values remove existing tags (if selected)
Validation Rules
- Tag names must be unique and valid
- Empty or duplicate tags are not allowed
- Tags already assigned to a user cannot be added again
