Admins can add custom properties tailored to the organization's needs for employees, equipment, locations, sites, and more.
These properties can be displayed in the list views of all entities, and they can be defined for each employee, equipment, or location as needed.
Custom properties can be defined as:
- String value
- Numeric value
- Linked dictionary - for setting up dictionaries click here.
How to add custom properties:
- Click on the "Equipment" module on the side menu.
- Under the "Equipment" tab, click on "Custom Properties."
- In the upper left corner, click on "Add Custom Property."
- In the opened tab, you can set the property's name, type (string, dictionary, numeric), and more.
- Click on "Save Changes."
- Once you've added the property, you can upload the property data through "Bulk Import" - here.
- You can view the property under the column arrangement - here.
Defining custom properties as unique identifiers:
These properties can also be defined as additional identifiers for employees, equipment, or locations/sites. This way, application users, surveys, and search screens can use additional identification to search for the desired entity.
Examples:
Employees with multiple identifiers, such as ID card number, passport number, employee number, bank account number, etc.
For equipment managed with barcode, NFC, and magnetic strips, or when the item has a BOM in addition to the serial number.
If a property is defined as a unique identifier for an entity, the system will perform a check to ensure that the value entered is unique for that entity. For instance, two employees cannot be defined with the same ID card number in the same organization, or two equipment items cannot have the same barcode.
How to perform:
- The system does not perform duplication checks for entities. You need to ensure that there are no duplicate identifiers before enabling this functionality.
- By default, properties are not defined as unique.
- You can determine a property as a unique identifier by enabling the ability.
- Once enabled, you will not be able to define a similar identifier for two items of the same entity.
