Definition: A location (Functional location) is a physical place in the company – such as a plant, room, warehouse, or a geographical description like a country, region, or city.

Structure: Locations can be defined in an unlimited hierarchy (a tree of values and sub-values). Locations can be moved between branches and marked as active/inactive.

Management: Each location can have designated managers or viewers.

Creation Permissions: Only system administrators can create locations, via the UI, file upload, or API.

Example: Countries → Regions → Plants → Departments → Floors → Rooms → Areas within a room.
